Denys Purdy Founded by Denys Purdy in 1987, Capital Building & Development, Inc. began with two employees. Within a year, Mr. Purdy began to target the traditional home, high-end market in the Rye-Harrison area. Primarily through word-of-mouth, Capital developed a reputation for high quality work and outstanding customer service. That reputation has helped Mr. Purdy grow Capital to a staff of 35 employees consisting of project managers, craftsman, masons, heavy equipment operators, and a support staff of office personnel. Mr. Purdy earned a Bachelor's of Arts Degree in psychology from Iona College. He graduated With Distinction, maintaining a 4.0 average, earning the Dean's List each semester. These accomplishments are highlighted by the fact that they were earned while concurrently running a growing business. Active in construction outside of his business, Mr. Purdy has performed volunteer work for the Westchester affiliate of Habitat for Humanity. Here, his leadership skills led him to serve as Chairman of the Construction Committee. Additionally he taught skills training seminars to volunteers.
